ALLERGEN INFORMATION

Natasha's Law
Since October 2021, UK law — known as Natasha's Law (the Food Information (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2019, mirrored across the UK) — requires food that is prepacked for direct sale (PPDS) to carry a full ingredients list, with the 14 major allergens clearly emphasised.
Every meal box from The Calorie Cook is prepared and packed on-site before being sold directly to you, which means it's classed as PPDS food. In line with Natasha's Law, each box is labelled with a full ingredients list and its allergens are clearly highlighted, so you can check exactly what's inside before you eat.
The 14 Major Allergens
UK law requires food businesses to clearly identify if any of the following 14 allergens are used as ingredients:
- Celery — including celery stalks, leaves, seeds and celeriac
- Cereals containing gluten — wheat, rye, barley and oats
- Crustaceans — crab, lobster, prawns and scampi
- Eggs
- Fish
- Lupin — seeds and flour, sometimes found in bread and pastry
- Milk
- Molluscs — mussels, whelks, oysters, snails and squid
- Mustard
- Tree nuts — almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, brazil nuts, pistachios and macadamia nuts
- Peanuts
- Sesame — seeds and oil
- Soybeans
- Sulphur dioxide & sulphites — at concentrations of more than 10mg/kg or 10mg/litre
How We Handle Allergens
Our meals are prepared in a kitchen that handles all 14 major allergens. While we take reasonable care to prevent cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that any meal is completely free from traces of a particular allergen. If you have a severe allergy or intolerance, please contact us before ordering so we can talk through the options with you.
You can also tell us about any allergies or dietary requirements using the allergen notes field at checkout, and we'll take this into account when preparing your order.
